The Miracle of Zer Anpin

by Mel West

A miracle seen through a Defender of the Poor

This book was one of many printed to fit in your breast pocket,
and the homeless passed it, and others like it, out on the streets of Berkeley.

page 1

Barry complained that the people did not believe that the person of whom I had written in our work, Financial Institution Credit Watch , was he. How terrible, I thought, for they did not believe that Barry is a real person, of dignity, and our respect. I answered Barry that I had been putting together another book, and I would write it around him. We know that as you take it to your heart it will not only leave an imprint that Barry is a real person, but more so witness--as a lily in the field-- how precious he is in our sight.

Searching your mind

I had planned to write a "technical" book for the rabbis around the mystery of Zer Anpin ; and I thought to write it in such a way that it would imprint itself upon all those around me. In our other works (What Price Justice and Validation of Truth) I described this as the cause of my affliction: I compared it to ineffectual, desperate pleas of beggars grabbing at the cloaks of hard-hearted passer-bys in Nazi Germany, who refused beggars Justice, then eventually murdered them. Barry complained how the beggars in our streets are similarly resented; and I believed that bringing his complaint forward might allow others to experience more personally the burden upon us to defend them and also--conjuring a Miracle through Zer Anpin – bring many to see a Wisdom higher than theirs: God's Wisdom!

He who endeavors to look upon the Wisdom of God is under a great burden; and many who have thought to carry that burden have, as it were, fallen in the street under its weight. The burden, my children, is Truth; and Truth, indeed, is a heavy weight – a veritable millstone – to carry. This burden is much heavier today than in previous ages, because – in America in particular – it is customary to lie and cheat, and anyone who attempts to be truthful and honest is a ready and juicy prey waiting to be devoured. In our Tiny Books we compared modern Americans to worshippers of the Code of Hell: in Hell it is every man for himself--you're on your own kid! To survive in this environment lying, robbing, and cheating is necessary, as exemplified among our leaders.

Giving thought to Justice

Justice comes only through Truth. To those who have given most thought to Justice (the Bible is the most thorough examination of the subject) one who goes against the Code of Hell is Truth and as a Lily of the Field : this concept coming from the Song of Songs . [The Song of Solomon].

page 2

I saw an opportunity to reveal Zer Anpin around the Song of Songs and Barry, because the first one awaiting Truth (the King Messiah) in the Song of Songs is black; and Barry is black.

The Bible – upon which all Christians, Jews, and Moslems rely, as well as the Laws of the Western World – in configuring a system of Justice for the world brought forth a parable of Truth's (God's Wisdom) courtship of man. The Song of Songs presents this courtship in terms more "attractive" to our Soul. The lover of Truth the King Messiah is offered first as a daughter of Jerusalem, extending through the Children of Israel as First Fruits of Wisdom's Harvest, to the season when all men are married in God's Truth: Peace and Justice.

To understand Barry's relevance to Justice, let us understand the first lover in the Song of Songs :

The Song of Songs , which is Solomon's.

1.2 Let him [Messiah – Truth – ed. note] kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
1.3 Because of the savor of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
1.4 Draw me, we will run after thee; the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine the upright love thee.
1.5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the Tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
1.6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me..
2.1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the Valleys.
2.2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
2.8 The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
2.9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.
2.10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
2.11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
2.12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come; and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
2.13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
2.16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies...

Raising up the Masses

The occasion for this book came not by accident but with the specific intent of celebrating an important date with the rabbis from the days of Jesus and before until now; and that date has to do with raising up the masses as the Jews were raised up from Mt. Sinai. The 20th of Shevat (Hebrew Calendar)--the 11th of February 1993 – commemorates the moment Moses encountered (was courted by) God through the Burning Bush on Mt. Sinai (c. 1491 B.C.). This is a moment in time which, says the Oral Torah, will be repeated, as God, through the King Messiah, will again visit the earth [with His Truth] and see eye to eye with the rabbis. Said R Yohanan:

The Bavli 29.I In the future all the prophets will sing in unison, as it is written, ' Your watchman shall lift up the voice, with the voice together they shall sing' (Isaiah 57.8).
29.D And R. Joshua b. Levi added, "Whoever recites the song [of praise] in this world will have the merit of saying it in the world to come."

A Promise of Resurrection: a renewal. The Watchman shall lift up the voice – this is proof of the Resurrection of the Dead, the rabbis said. For they shall see eye to eye (sing with him) when the King Messiah [Truth] comes. The Watchmen are the prophets. They shall see eye to eye: they shall be raised up when he comes. This is confirmed by:

The Bavli 48 .. who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40.31).

But the King Messiah shall be loaded down:

The Bavli 48.S ..And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge of the fear of the Lord, and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2-3).
48.T And R. Alexandri said, " The use of the words for quick understanding indicates that he loaded him down with good deeds and suffering as a mill [which uses identical letters] is loaded down.

page 4

But with Righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth (Isaiah 11.4) My children, Barry had been loaded down with this work: of defending the poor. There are many witnesses who can testify of this; his works are of God because of this authority:

Psalm 12.5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

Taking the argument to Heaven:

I took this argument to the Great Assembly: the Sons and Daughters of Heaven, for it might be that Barry is a Watchman , I concluded. In the Halls of Heaven I argued that this is not only deduced from his works on the streets of Berkeley but also by his name: for his name is Miller and a Miller is one who – like Gilead working on the Threshing Floor – turns the stones which mill wheat at harvest time. I argued that Barry was laboring under the burden of grinding the stony hearts of the passer-bys to hearts of flesh. He had complained to me that in the past we had bums with their hands out to passer-bys; but today it is different, for millions of people are now begging in the streets (as in Nazi Germany); but the passer-bys treat them as if they are all condemned, not to be defended. Barry argued that there are many beggars who are quite capable, as he is, with considerable education and training and yet of much value to society; and they are, as he, treated as worms- not persons; that is to say, not Human Beings. For this reason I went into the Halls of the Great Assembly; surely they will defend Barry – many like him – and bless him for doing the work of God: as Defender of the Poor...

The Bavli 51.H The earth went and said a song before him, as it is said, "From the uttermost part of the earth we have heard songs, even glory to the righteous (Is. 24.16).

Defending the Poor from the uttermost part of the earth

I explained in the Halls of the Great Assembly that I found Barry not only among the lilies of the field but in the uttermost part of the earth, in Berkeley. The significance of his work in this day is of further importance, because it is the day – like the gathering of caterpillars – in which it is each one for himself (Bavli 65; Isaiah 33.4). Have not the poor been scattered as prey before the greed of America! I shouted.

page 5

Said R. Nahman to R. Isaac:

The Bavli 82.A "Have you heard when the son of the fallen one will come?
82. B He said to him, "Who is the son of the fallen one'?"
82.C He said to him, " the Messiah."
82.D "Do you call the Messiah the son of the fallen one'?"
82.E He said to him, "yet, for it is written, in that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, the fallen one " (Amos 9:11).
82.F He said to him, "This is what R. Yohanan said, 'The generation to which the Son of David [sic. Son of the Fallen One--ed. note] will come will be one in which disciples of sages grow fewer,
82.G "'and, as to the others, their eyes will wear out through suffering and sighing,
82. H "'and troubles will be many, and laws harsh, forever renewing themselves so that the new one will hasten onward before the old one has come to an end.'"
59.B...and the wisdom of scribes will putrefy; and those who fear sin will be rejected; and the truth will be herded away [M. Sot. 9:15AA-GG].
59.C "For it is said, 'And the truth will be herded away (Isaiah 59:15).
59.F What is the meaning [of the concluding passage of the same verse], "And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey? "(Isaiah 59.15).
59.G Said members of the house of R. Shila, "Whoever departs from evil will be treated as a fool [using the same Hebrew letters as those for "prey"--ed. note.] by other people".
86.B R. Nehorai says, "In the generation in which the Son of David [King Messiah] will come, children will shame elders, and elders wills stand up before children..(Micah 7.6).
87.B R. Nehemiah says, ...the government turns to heresy, and there is no reproof [M. Sot. 9:15W-Z].
88.C The Son of David will come only when traitors are many.
88.D .. Only when disciples are few.
88.E .. Only when a penny will not be found in anyone's pocket.
88.F ..Only when people will have given up hope...
96.Q Said .. R. Joshua, "But it is written elsewhere 'And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven and swore by him who lives forever..when he shall have accomplished scattering the power of the Holy People, all these things shall be finished' (Daniel 12.7).

page 6

Time to act: they have forsaken the law

All agreed that the Scattering of the Power of the Children of Israel (Holy People) had been accomplished, that they are now redeemed to the Holy Land (Israel), and that the passer-bys are conducting themselves shamefully as just reviewed; thus, it is time for them to act. So said R. Zeiri in the name of R. Hanina:

The Bavli , 98.C "The Son of David will come only when arrogant people will no longer be [found] in Israel, as it is said, 'For then I will take away out of the midst of you those who rejoice in your pride' (Zephaniah 8.11), followed by: 'I will also leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people, and they shall take refuge in the name of the Lord'.

I answered that there is still arrogance in Israel, since they have been restored to the land but have refused to change the name of the land to Beulah according to their covenant (Isaiah 62.4).

The Bavli, 98.D ..a generation that is entirely wicked, as it is written, 'And he saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor' (Isaiah 59.16)..
98.F [reviewing where Barry was working--ed. note]"And where is he [the King Messiah] sitting?"
98.G "At the gate of the city."
98.H "And what are the marks which indicate who he is?"
98.I "He is sitting among the poor who suffer illness, and all of them untie and tie their bandages all together, but he unties them and ties them one by one. He is thinking, 'Perhaps I may be wanted, and I do not want to be held up'".
106.P ...but sin caused the miracle to be withheld."
110.A Said R. P Simlai, "What is the meaning of that which is written, 'Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! To what end is it for you? The day of the Lord is darkness and not light' (Amos 5.18)?
110.E " When Darkness covers those men."
110.G .."For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and great darkness the people, but the Lord shall shine upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you' (Isaiah 60.2).

page 7

All sang:

[The Bahir ]..His Glory: His Wisdom will shine on us like a Pearl: like seven suns; all sang the Bahir (meaning brilliant ) 75;
·Of truth, bringing nothing but Peace (Bahir 75);
·of Justice – without Wisdom there is no Justice (Bahir 64);
·of Mercy – hardened hearts: give no Mercy...

They shamed me!. I was ashamed! I had been a student of the Torah and had contacted the Northern California Board of Rabbis (Rabbi Sparer) for direction on this same matter on 4 February 1991. Rabbi Sparer kindly responded to my letter on 27 Shevat = Feb. 11: it offered hope, as it was my Birthday! – and he suggested that I contact Professor Milgrom, who regrettably stiff-armed me for many months; thus, leaving me without an answer and shamed, for:

The Bavli 118.A R. Joshua b. Qorhah says, "Whoever studies the Torah and does not review it is like a man who sows seed but does not harvest it."
118.B R. Joshua says,' [T.99B] ..like a woman who bears and buries'.

This witness midst the Great Assembly increased my shame, because more questions had to be answered [sic. why I don't teach the Torah]:

R. Johanaan said, "Who learns and does not teach is like a myrtle in the desert" [Talmud: Rosh Hashana, 23.a].

..Academic chairs are many, but wise and noble teachers are few [Einstein, The World as I see it, 1934]

..Perhaps he is too impatient. "An impatient man cannot be a teacher" [Mishna: Abot, 2.5]; on the other hand he answered ..Who withholds a law [sic. The Torah] from his pupil robs him of his inheritance [Hillel, Rab. T: Sanhedrin, 91b].

They reflected on our Pearls , the Tiny Books . Said Hezekiah b. Hiyya,

"The Torah is a crown for the head [ Proverbs 1.9], a string of pearls for the neck [ibid.], a balm for the heart [Psalms 19.9], a salve for the eyes [ibid.], and a drug for the bowels [Proverbs 3.8]."

page 8

Thus, led by R. Hillel and R. Akiba:

..Barry had been handing out life: The more Torah, the more life..
..Barry had been adorning the heads of passer-bys with pearls..
..he had been driving nails into a new foundation, for our sayings [sic. the Tiny Books ] are like nails; once they are driven in, even if the building burns down, the nails can still be seen!
..he had been handing out toys to little children, for our sayings are like the balls little children play with – they pass them hand to hand...

M. Ibn Ezra, recalled his Song of the Pearls:

I will make the wisdom of the ancients my portion...
When I dive into the sea of their knowledge,
I bring forth pearls to adorn my neck.

"We must defend Barry!" they all shouted. For Seder Eliyahu Rabbah says,

A scholar, constantly occupied with Torah for the glory of Heaven, needs no weapon for protection. The Holy One is his protector, and the ministering angels are his bodyguard.

.."Barry has been teaching", said Jose b. Halafta: "He is your teacher if he enlightened you in but one Mishna" [Talmud: Baba Metzia, 33a; Mishna: Abot, 6.3].

Bringing Good to the World! This shall be for a blessing to Barry; for:

The Bavli 130. B Rabbi Meir says, "By the same measure by which a man metes out, do they mete out to him [M. Sot. 1:7A] (or the wicked are caught in the very same snares they set for others).
130.C "For it is written, 'By measure in sending her away thou dost contend with her.'' (Isaiah 27.80).
130.D Said R. Judah, "And can one say so? If a person gives a handful to a poor man in this world, will the Holy One, blessed be he, give him a handful [of his so much larger hand], in the world to come?"

page 9

..Barry was bringing Good to the World, for:

The Bavli 134.F R. Simeon b. Eleazar in the name of R. Simeon b. Hanania, testified "Whoever recites a verse of Scripture at the proper time brings good to the world,
134.G "As it is said, 'And a word spoken in season, how good is it' (Proverbs 15:20)."

..Barry's work is in season; I argued, for:

– The Spring [of our song] is at hand –
·Israel is the Fig Tree;
·and the Fig Tree has produced its fruit (Mark 13.28: Now learn a parable of the Fig Tree: When her branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near); Zechariah 3.10 In that day.. shall ye call every man his neighbor under the Vine and under the Fig Tree (see also Micah 4.4).
·It is the time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time: and at that time My People were delivered, every one found written in the book (Daniel 12.1);
..Barry is crossing over the tops of the mountains! 'the mountains are the prophets' (Dead Sea Scrolls on Melkizedek and Moses );
..Barry's complaint makes us angry! For it is said that on the twentieth of Shevat, Messiah will come and angels of destruction will descend and wreak havoc in all that multitude [against the Prince], and not a soul will be left (Sefer Eliyahu 3.66).
·He will level all the High Places
·He will level the High Towers
·He'll bind up the broken hearted;
proclaim liberty to captives (Is. 61)

page 10

Barry was drawing out your soul to the Hungry. Said I, "This was given to all men:

..When you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the Afflicted Soul, then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day (Isaiah 58.10)."

I had been received! Barry's complaint would now be reviewed inside the Great Assembly, and there was great rolling thunder in Heaven from the knocking of their knees together as they sat down. Everyone was there: the rabbis and prophets (including Jesus), Mohammed, the Brahmins, Buddha and his disciples, Confucius, the Old Man, Lao Tzu--many others (see our works The String of Pearls, Hidden Pavilions, The Tapestry of One and our 15 Briefs on the Koran and Zionism.

The Opening of Barry's Story is the opening of Righteousness, I argued. While I had justified in the Halls of Heaven our cause and the timeliness of it, there was yet much to be discovered. So I was asked to tell all of them more about Barry and how he and I joined to defend the Poor and the Afflicted souls among us.

According to the story Barry told me:

"Barry is now thirty-two years old," I answered. "He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, moved to California and studied four years as a machinist in the East Bay Steel Center Trade School, and then married a Divorcee with two children. Three years later his wife was mortally wounded in a car accident. This was three years ago, and he has since been raising the two children alone.

Six months ago he was laid off from his position at Pinole Point Steel after having worked there about four years. The company cut back the shifts from three to two, leaving those with up to seven years tenure out of work.

After being laid-off, since his unemployment benefits were not sufficient to cover expenses, he moved into a hotel room with his two young boys whose ages are 7 and 9. And then I met him in the street.

I asked him whether his children, Mike and Tony, knew what he was doing during the day to raise food money. He answered, "I cannot tell them" for reasons we cannot elaborate here.

The Great Assembly was in tears, as I was in tears while telling his story; and they all agreed that Barry should tell his children the truth, that he spends his days working on behalf of the poor; more so, he has been defending them with the Pearls of the Great Assembly of Heaven.

page 11

Refined, friend of God

When I introduced Barry's name before the Great Assembly , many of them--being Hebrew Scholars – thought I said bar Reaia , meaning [bar="son of"] seen of God. Others understood his name as Rei, meaning friendly, who was a friend of David (l Kings 2.8) – which caused their great interest; then asked they if he was a son of Jethro (also known as Reuel, "God's Friend"), who was High Priest of Midian and father-in-law of Moses, whose name had a similar mix to Barry's, causing even more Midrash.

Having refined the confusion over Barry's name I then proceeded to pass on to them Barry's complaint that the hard-hearted passer-bys – we speak of the Americans as a whole – are pushing many of the poor into lives of crime, because they have no way to support themselves; and the passer-bys in the street and their leaders have no feeling for the poor's and the afflicted's needs. Barry's message was sobering: "I was not raised this way! I was taught that you must take care of Home first. America is devoting its energies to caring for other nations at the expense of its own people. I don't begrudge our helping others; but I do believe we should be taking care of our own millions of homeless and the multitudes of our poor first," he said.

All in the Great Assembly agreed with Barry, for to take care of others at the expense of your own children is like a woman abandoning her own suckling babes for another woman's child.

"You made your own children a prey," they said.
..They shall be smashed as a broken vessel..
..They shall be flooded with more plagues
..They shall be chased as caterpillars..

America Condemned

This follows the saying which was made by Elijah to Israel when they were following the custom of throwing their newborn children into a fiery pit before the god Ba'al. After making this pronouncement the children of Israel were taken by Nebuchadnezzar into captivity in Babylon. So the pronouncement from Heaven, "you make your children a prey" is followed by scattering and exile. A good part of America's problems are owing to the fact that its culture promotes the scattering of its children, and with the scattering, in times of trouble, comes desolation. This is particularly noticeable in Barry's case, as I asked Barry whether he might return to his parents for help, and he answered that they are old and he would not want to hurt them with the knowledge of his predicament. Many are alone and distressed for similar reasons, because of divorce, family breakups in pursuit of the volatile opportunities for jobs, and a corrupt and insensitive government (see What Price Justice, Liberating the Poor, etc ).

page 12

Not a lone case

Another illustration of our despair is found in one who was on drugs (who hoped to escape them) and slept on the streets; who broke into tears when I inquired about the room which he shared with another but did not use. I asked him why he slept on the street when he owned a room. "I don't wish to be alone, and in the room I am alone," he answered. He sleeps on the street in a blanket so filthy the fast food restaurants require him to eat on the curb and will not let him eat inside with other patrons. A few years before he owned a business in Tahoe.

Returning to the World of Time

Many wandering the streets of America seem to carry a story no one wishes to talk about. For in America there is shame in being a victim. Whether one is like Ishi, the last survivor of the Yahi Nation exterminated from the area around Redbluff, California, or whether one had been enslaved, mugged, raped or robbed, it is the victim we shame; not those who victimize them.

Ishi (also meaning man i n Hebrew) and his language died--with the Mandans and others lost to eternity under the rampages of men. But their mute voices thunder in Heaven: not to be lost to eternity. Echoing them was Rabbi Epstein of Cracow : "You must return to the world of time and not allow yourself to be lost to eternity." So I crouched to the wall behind the dust of nations – midst coughing, crying, the embers of desolated homes – and cried, stand up or we all will be lost!

The rain drowned out my words...

I mentioned these and many other things before the Witan of the Great Assembly, for there are many children of great heritage and talents which have been vandalized by America.

My word! It was 4:00 P.M. Friday the 15 th of January 1993 as I wrote this, and suddenly with the rain a terrible wind just began to rock my dwelling! I must have raised the wrath of the Great Assembly! I thought at the time.

Let their be Light (Bahir)

We wrote this not to offend you – nor to entertain you – but to move you to attend to America's needs. As I sit midst the pounding wind and waves and the lightning and the thunder, I know that there are those who will stand up for the poor and the afflicted among us. But I know that as you cower behind your curtains, behind your windows and away from the thunder and lightening as I, there are millions of us like Ishi who have been uprooted by Greed and who daily face the dark clouds over us – not by choice but by circumstance.

page 13

The Right to give a Tent to the Homeless

The least we could do for them is to raise a Tent of Refuge (and others as may be necessary). This I argued by the following:

Isaiah 4.6 And there shall be a Tabernacle (Tent) for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain... [Psalm 9.9] The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. [Isaiah 25.4] God has been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

We do not presume to impose our Tent of Refuge upon those who do not wish to have anything to do with it, but felt entitled to raise it for those who would seek its refuge (whomsoever comes). We mention this because the Tiny Books which Barry has been passing out have been arguing for the right to provide such a shelter to the poor, the needy in his distress, and a shelter from the blast of those who puff themselves up at them; and few have answered...

I, for my part, give all credit in this work to our Source: the Great and Holy Spirit and his servants. Moses knew Him as YHVH (Jehovah), and the rabbis since then have concluded that the more one comes to understand the name of God the closer one comes to understanding Him, as ineffable as He and His Work may be.

Light in a Name:

In the old days, when the High Priest went into the Temple Sanctuary with an offering, he pronounced the Holy Name of God, saying YHVH, YHVH, YHVH--Lord (including the thirteen attributes of God's Mercy). YHVH means, I Am. The three names of God together are 12 letters and these can be extended to 72, which include such names as Comforter, Father of the Fatherless, etc. Included in the 72 letters are the names of the King Messiah. The closer one gets to understanding His Name the closer one gets to knowing God: to the end that one day the earth will be filled with the Glory of God. This name includes Wisdom and He carries God's name in Him. To help you appreciate your contact with Barry we signed with a name which will hopefully enlighten you towards that end...

West in Hebrew means Aravot , the name of the highest Heaven and before the throne of God. "Mel," of course, carries the name of God, "EL," from Elohim in it and also comes from the Hebrew name for King, Melhe or Melchi. Also used is the open mem signature "M" which is explained in Psalm 119.97-104.

page 14

The seal bearing a Unicorn (in our frontispiece) with the Greek word "nikeon" above it means "I conquered" ; and the seal is believed to have been the seal Alexander the Great used. The Unicorn was first mentioned in the Bible as an allegory of the Messiah and, according to tradition, was the first animal named by Adam.

"I conquered or Victory" relates to two Hebrew letters: The open mem "M" [ ] and the Tzaddi [ ], a letter representing righteousness. The "Mem" stands for water (.. flooded with the Glory of the Lord) and the joining of it (see back cover) to the Tzaddi gives it strength; and through 32 simple steps "of teaching the meek our way," victory. These steps are sung by Jews by the 32 fringes on their cloaks. They all reduce to God's Desire: providing for the widow (& widower), the fatherless, poor, and the brokenhearted..

Barry is a widower and a father of the fatherless

"Can any Christian, Jew, or Moslem pass him by?" the Great Assembly of Aravot exclaimed.

Finally we may address Zer Anpin. According to the same Jewish (Kabbalistic) precepts, Zer Anpin (meaning Small Face ) represents the Heart of God, a personification (like Parzival), who carries all the Ten Sifirot (strengths) of God. I saw this thing in a dream long before I read the Kabbalah, and he was ourself – our Heirs – riding in the wing of an eagle looking back at me...

Heirs

Knowing this personification, we saw a daughter of Truth who loved Righteousness and said in the Song of Songs, "but I am black...".and it reminded me of Barry; and this, in turn, helped me describe a thing (black box – called a Tefellin) worn on the arm of God which carries arguments for the sake of His Heirs, all of which we discussed. We are the Heirs (see Koran, Al-Hijr) and understand your religion (love of or doubt of God). We Hope on your Teacher of Righteousness: of obeying the Golden Rule, taking care of your own; owning up to the responsibilities which you inherit, and passing on Zer Anpin's  (the Heir's) rights to us. "These are Thunder Words!" cried the Son of Ishi. Here we end the matter.
